WB expresses fresh concerns on SL

The World Bank (WB) shared today its concerns on the current status of Sri Lanka as protestors came under attack by pro-government supporters.

“We are deeply concerned with the perpetration of violence in #SriLanka,” WB Country Director for Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka Faris H. Hadad-Zervos tweeted a short while ago.

“Those responsible are only standing in the way of the country’s immediate economic recovery and making the task even more difficult for development partners,” he said.
