Leading this transformation is General Manager Arshed Refai, who joined the hospitality group in 2019. Starting his career in IT, Refai’s deep understanding of the property and its potential saw him rapidly rise through the ranks, taking the helm as General Manager in 2022. Under his leadership, the resort has successfully navigated its recent rebranding and refurbishment, firmly establishing its unique identity within the Sri Lankan market. 

“We don’t need to do a lot of marketing; our country itself is marketed by itself,” Refai noted, expressing confidence in the destination’s inherent appeal while emphasising the resort’s commitment to delivering an authentic experience.

“It was all done by local artisans from Sri Lanka and nearby areas,” Refai explained, noting that “all the materials for the project were sourced locally”.

Management actively educates and supports local villages, even assisting them in forming cultural dance groups to provide authentic storytelling and entertainment for guests.
