Commercial Bank secures approval to establish representative Office in Dubai

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC (CBC) has announced a strategic expansion into the Middle East following regulatory approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to open a Representative Office within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

The approval, disclosed under Section 8 of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) Listing Rules, marks a pivotal step in CBC’s global growth strategy. 

The DIFC, recognized as a leading international financial hub, is expected to bolster the bank’s efforts to enhance its cross-border operations and strengthen its presence in key markets.  

This move underscores CBC’s commitment to broadening its international footprint while aligning with its long-term objectives to tap into new economic opportunities. The Representative Office in the DIFC will serve as a strategic base to facilitate regional partnerships and explore avenues for future expansion.
