Treasury appoints Muthukude as Management Audit chief

The Finance Ministry yesterday announced the appointment of M.R.A.G.B. Muthukude as Director General of the Department of Management Audit.

He brings nearly three decades of public sector financial management experience to the role.

Muthukude, a Senior Officer of the Special Grade of the Sri Lanka Accountants’ Service, has previously served as Director and Additional Director General of the Department of Management Audit.

He has also held senior positions including Additional Director General of the Department of Public Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Sri Lanka Customs.

The Department of Management Audit is responsible for promoting sound financial management, internal controls and operational efficiency across government institutions.

Muthukude’s career include appointments as Director of Finance and Accountant at several state institutions, with responsibilities spanning public finance, budgeting and financial administration.

A graduate of Rajarata University, he has completed postgraduate studies at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA).

He has also undergone professional training in public policy formulation, financial management and project management in the United Kingdom, Thailand, Malaysia and China.
