SLES 2023 announces key session on accelerating growth through unlocking trade and investment

The third session of Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2023 (SLES 2023), conducted by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce on November 28 and 29, will centre around exploring how Sri Lanka can capitalise on its strategic location and implement a ‘+1 strategy’ to boost trade and investment.


Titled ‘Accelerating Growth Through Unlocking Trade and Investment’, this session will look at the experiences of other nations that have successfully navigated crises to usher in vital trade and investment reforms. Participants will gain valuable insights into Sri Lanka’s potential to accelerate its exports and foreign direct investment (FDI) trajectory, focusing on the Vietnamese perspective, widely hailed for its successful economic transformation. 
HoaSen Group, Vietnam Deputy General Director Nguyen Ngoc Huy will serve as the presenter, offering a unique perspective from Vietnam. Session panellists comprise leading figures in key sectors, including John Keells Holdings PLC Chairman Krishan Balendra, Aitken Spence PLC Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake, Hirdaramani Group Chairman Vinod Hirdaramani, Unilever Sri Lanka PLC Chairperson and Managing Director Hajar Alafifi, Colombo Port City Economic Commission Chief Operating Officer and Director Financial Services and Compliance Revan Wickramasuriya and Echelon Media Co-Founder and Chief Editor Shamindra Kulamanage will moderate the discussion.
