SLCBCC elects new office bearers and executive committee

Sri Lanka China Business Co-operation Council (SLCBCC) announced that the following office bearers and executive committee members were elected at its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held recently at the NCCSL auditorium. 

Office bearers: President Indika Salgado, Deputy Presidents Ranjith Laksiri and Arjuna Yatawara, Secretary General Ajith D. Perera, Honorary Treasurer Tissa Ruberu and Assistant Treasurer Merwyn Gunawardena

Executive Committee: Renuka Jayamanne, Kaushal Rajapaksha, Nirmal Fernando, S. Thiruchelvam, Prabath Jayasuriya, Nimal Ratnayake, K. Radhakrishnan, Dilshan Perera, Dinesh Moses, Nishan Perera, Pradeep Pushpakumara and Gayan Prasanna Perera

The newly elected committee brings a wealth of experience and expertise to guide the SLCBCC’s strategic direction, while enhancing member value and strengthening delivery.  

Looking ahead, the newly elected President Indika Salgado expressed confidence that the committee would drive the council towards new achievements, foster deeper partnerships and deliver greater value to the members.

The AGM was attended by a well-represented cross-section of members, both in-person and virtually, reflecting the council’s strong commitment to advancing its goal. The new team will assume its responsibilities immediately.  

Salgado acknowledged that the past achievements were made possible through the dedication of the members and he extended his gratitude to the outgoing exco members for their service to the council.  

He further noted that while the council has reached many milestones – including the introduction of the Trusted Trader Certification in partnership with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – its flagship event was not held due to the country’s circumstances. Reviving this event will be a top priority for the year.

Salgado has announced that the SLCBCC has been awarded the VIP status at China’s renowned Canton Fair.
