Perera & Sons provides clean water to Medabedda Maha Vidyalaya

Perera & Sons (P&S) recently installed a state-of-the-art Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to Medabedda Maha Vidyalaya in Galewela. 
The school was established in 1935 and serves over 900 students with the support of 45 teachers. This project provides the school and community with much-needed, reliable access to clean and safe drinking water, directly supporting the health and well-being of students and staff. 

The RO Plant was inaugurated with Gihan Perera, Managing Director, Perera & Sons, leading the ceremony alongside other company representatives, local officials and members of the school community.

This initiative underscores P&S’s dedication to addressing the vital needs of communities while continuously fostering sustainable development. By providing access to clean water, the project reflects the company’s alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6: Clean Water and Sanitation. The company’s broader CSR efforts also contribute to SDG 10: Reduced Inequality, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. 

P&S has actively supported RO plant projects since 2021, which demonstrates the company’s continuous commitment to initiatives that help uplift communities and create tangible, lasting benefits. Through the ‘Manumehewara’ initiative and other meaningful community-driven projects Perera and Sons continues to help build a sustainable and equitable future for Sri Lanka.
