Gerald Hidelaratchi honoured at ISMM Sri Lanka’s 51st anniversary

ISMM Sri Lanka. 
As a founding member of ISMM, a senior delegate, and vice president of the International Federation of Purchasing and Management, he also served as the past president of the Organization of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka.
His significant and dedicated contributions to elevating the supply chain profession in Sri Lanka were acknowledged at the event. Additionally, he holds the title of a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute of the UK, recognizing him as an exceptional leader globally.


An alumnus of St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy, and a graduate of the University of Ceylon, Hidelaratchi excelled in sports as captain of the first eleven Cricket and Soccer teams, a cadet, an athlete, and a hockey player. He served as the head prefect of the college for two years (1957-1958) and received the Cingolani Gold Medal for the best all-round student in 1958.


Continuing his prowess in sports at the University of Ceylon, he earned colours in cricket and soccer, while also participating in rugby, basketball, hockey, and athletics. He was the vice president of the Sports Council in 1961 and 1962.
Over his career spanning nearly 60 years, Hidelaratchi held senior positions in the public sector, corporate sector, and the international sector. Even in retirement, he remains actively engaged with ISMM and OPA.
