Ruwani Alwishewa of Great Place to Work Sri Lanka presents insights from Best Workplaces for Women in Sri Lanka Study

The Best Workplaces for Women in Sri Lanka 2025 event, held recently, brought together business leaders, HR professionals and change-makers united by a shared commitment to advancing gender equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Celebrating the 20 Best Workplaces for Women in Sri Lanka 2025, the event went beyond recognition to spark sustained action—sharing practical insights, proven best practices and evidence-based learnings that inspire leaders to drive long-term cultural change, strengthen accountability and create truly inclusive workplaces where women can thrive.

The event underscored the power of intentional, data-driven action in advancing women at work, with insights from the Best Workplaces for Women in Sri Lanka Study 2025 revealing the policies, practices and cultures that set leading organisations apart. This in turn, enabled organisations to benchmark their current practices, identify opportunities for improvement and design holistic support models that integrate well-being, equity, flexibility and career development.

An engaging Interactive Round Table Session further elevated the dialogue, enabling candid peer learning on critical themes such as how women can sustain energy in high-pressure leadership roles, workplace equity, work–life integration, confidence and psychological safety, life-stage transitions, allyship and pathways for re-entry. These conversations translated research into real-world perspectives and practical solutions relevant to today’s workplaces. As such, participants gained a comprehensive understanding of best practices shaping future-ready, women-inclusive workplaces, exploring how leading organisations design policies, cultures and support systems that enable women to thrive across all career stages, within the Sri Lankan context.

It also celebrated the 20 organisations that emerged as exemplars of gender equity, inclusion and workplace excellence,  including AB Mauri Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, AIA Insurance Lanka Limited, AmSafe Bridport (Pvt.) Ltd, Ansell Textiles Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, ATG Hand Care (Pvt.) Ltd, BoardPAC (Pvt.) Ltd, Diamond Cutters Ltd, Dole Lanka (Pvt.) When organisations intentionally design inclusive cultures and support systems that enable women to thrive, we unlock not only individual potential but also stronger, more resilient workplaces and a more prosperous Sri Lanka,” shared Great Place To Work Sri Lanka Director/CEO Kshanika Ratnayaka.

The event concluded with a clear call to action, equipping leaders with practical, evidence-based strategies to build resilient, inclusive and culturally sustainable workplaces where women can grow, lead and succeed.
