Regional startups shine as FinTech World Cup lands in Port City Colombo

Port City Colombo buzzed with fintech innovation as the Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL), in strategic alliance with Port City, hosted the regional competition of the prestigious FinTech World Cup (FWC).

The FWC, a globally recognized initiative by Trescon and powered by Ignyte, serves as a catalyst for fintech startup growth. At the Colombo event, founders of four dynamic Sri Lankan fintech companies – Petula Wijesinghe from AnybanQ, Dumin Sahiet from Yenasys, Sanjeewa Pathirana from Nanosoft Global, and Chameera Ranasinghe from Nextdrive – delivered compelling pitches of their solutions. 

This regional competition offered these local innovators a vital platform to gain international exposure, with the top contenders set to advance to the FWC Grand Finale at the Dubai FinTech Summit on 13 May.
