Two remanded for swindling thousands of people

A Manageress and a Director who have been working under an individual who was employed as a Director under Sakvithi Ranasinghe and operated the Sithijaya Homes and Rajagedara Homes Companies were remanded by the Kaduwela Magistrate for allegedly swindling thousands of customers.

The two suspects were remanded till August 25.

They have allegedly defrauded money from people undertaking to construct houses and brokerage in the sale of lands, Mirihana police told the court.

The chief suspect who is said to have been an understudy of Sakivithi Ranasinghe is currently absconding. He had earlier worked as a director under Sakvithi Ranasinha and has started business forming two companies- Sithijaya and Rajagedera Homes Pvt Ltd. after the arrest of Sakvithi who is the accused of a case at the Gangodawila Magistrate court over fraudulent deposits, police told the court.
