Two of same family killed in accident

A 22-year-old girl and a four and half year-old boy of the same family were killed when a three-wheeler collided head-on with a van at Kandalama on the Dambulla-Kandalama main roan this evening, Police said.

They said the girl and the boy were travelling with their parents in the three-wheeler at the time of the accident. Their father had sustained minor injuries while the mother escaped unhurt.

The deceased were identified as G.G. Vidusara Kalhara aged four and half and G.G. Sanduni Amarasinghe aged 22 of Nikawatawala, Dambulla. The bodies were placed at the Dambulla Hospital.

The driver of the van was arrested in connection with the accident.
