Two Israeli nationals arrested over alleged assault in Arugam Bay

Two Israeli nationals were arrested by Pottuvil Police yesterday for allegedly assaulting a hotel owner and his wife in Arugam Bay.

Police said the incident took place when the two foreigners, both aged 26, obstructed the road while the couple was travelling in their vehicle. A heated argument ensued, which escalated into a physical assault.

The victims sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment. The suspects are scheduled to be produced before court.
