Sun to be dire​ctly over Sri Lanka until September 07

The Department of Meteorology announced that the sun will be directly over Sri Lanka from August 28 to September 7 due to its apparent southward relative motion.

According to forecasts, the sun will be directly overhead at several locations tomorrow (30), including Vankalei, Omanthai, Vedamakilankulam, Kelabogaswewa, and Thiriyaya, at around 12.11 p.m.

The Meteorology Department said the phenomenon is part of the annual solar movement and will particularly affect the North and East regions of the country.
