Colombo, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - The government has granted approval for a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Digital Economy Ministry and the National University of Singapore, aimed at fostering collaboration in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in Sri Lanka.
The initiative is part of a broader effort to align with the country’s strategic objectives in digital transformation and innovation. The partnership will be formalized through discussions held with AI Singapore, a national program hosted at the National University of Singapore.
The MoU seeks to establish a framework for active cooperation between the two countries, including joint research projects, AI training programs, and knowledge exchange. The agreement is expected to enhance Sri Lanka’s AI capabilities and support efforts to address both local and global challenges through advanced technology.
The government views this move as a significant step in driving the country’s digital economy forward while strengthening international academic and technological collaboration.
