Spill gates of Kukuleganga, Laxapana opened

A spill gate at theKukulegangareservoir and another at the Laxapana reservoir have been opened due to rising water levels after the catchment areas experienced a rainfall of more than 100 mm, Disaster Management Center (DMC) said.

DMC spokesman Pradeep Kodippili said people living in Palindanuwara, Agalawatte, Baduraliya, Ingiriya and downstream were advised to be on alert for the possibility of rising water levels. (Thilanka Kanakarathna)
