Sinister move to allow gender transformation, homosexually in Sri Lanka: Cardinal

Colombo, August 15 (Daily Mirror) - There is a sinister move to allow gender transformation and allow homosexuality in Sri Lanka by certain organisations with the blessings of some political leaders, Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith said. 

Speaking during a public gathering, Cardinal Ranjith said certain international organisations with the blessings of some political leaders are carrying out a programme to allow young people to announce sexual transformation after obtaining a certificate from psychiatrists. 

"Those who want to change their gender are able to go and see these psychiatrists who examine them and issue a certificate. This certificate enables them to disassociate with the gender they are born with. This certificate is recognised by the Ministry of Health as well," he said. 

The Cardinal also said there is a move to allow homosexuality in Sri Lanka as well.
