Showers exceeding 100 mm expected in several areas: Met Dept.

Heavy showers exceeding 100 mm can be expected at some places in Northern, Eastern, North-Central, Uva, Central and Northwestern provinces due to the low level atmospheric disturbances in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, Meteorology Department said.

It said showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere. 

Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm can be expected at some places particularly in the evening or night, the Department said.

General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
