Samantha Ranasinghe to Parliament in place of Kosala Jayaweera

Colombo, April 8 (Daily Mirror) - NPP candidate Samantha Ranasinghe who contested the general elections for the Kegalle District will replace MP Kosala Nuwan Jayaweera who died suddenly on Sunday.

Ranasinghe who obtained more than 40,000 preferential votes at the general elections will be sworn in after his name is gazetted by the Election Commission.

Parliament yesterday officially informed the Election Commission that a vacancy was created with the death of Kosala Jayaweera.
