SLAF deploys Bell 412 to fight forest fire

Colombo, August 8 (Daily Mirror) - The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) deployed a Bell 412 helicopter today to carry out Bambi Bucket operations, delivering aerial water drops to contain a forest fire in the Raththanagolla–Imbulpe area of Balangoda.

The firefighting effort was launched in close coordination with the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) and local emergency services, with the primary aim of preventing the fire from spreading further across the region’s vulnerable forest cover.
