Railways probe massage incident on tourist train

The Department of Railways has launched an inquiry after a viral video showed foreign tourists receiving massages inside a train carriage.  

According to General Manager of Railways Dhammika Jayasundara, the train in question had been rented by a private entity for tourism purposes. While organizations are allowed to rent trains for a fee, the department was not informed about the massage activity.  

"This did not take place on a train used for regular operations. An investigation is underway, and we have also involved the Tourist Police. Steps will be taken to recover any losses from those responsible," Jayasundara stated.
