Pavithra, Dhammika Perera to be Cabinet Ministers soon

Business tycoon Dhammika Perera who was appointed a National List MP of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is tipped to be appointed Cabinet Minister soon, Daily Mirror learns.

His name was announced in the gazette notification as an MP yesterday by the Election Commission. He was nominated for the vacancy created by the resignation of Mr. Basil Rajapaksa from Parliament.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa created two ministries yesterday- Technology and Investment Promotion and Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment- to be assigned to two MPs.

Daily Mirror learns that Mr. Perera will be Technology and Investment Promotion MP and Ratnapura District SLPP MP Pavithra Wanniarachchi - Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment.

According to a top source, they will be sworn in a couple of days.(Kelum Bandara)
