The PCR machine at the Mulleriyawa Base Hospital which malfunctioned on October 23, has had a successful test-run with expected results, the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka said.
Chinese technical experts, who arrived in the island to identify the issue, concluded yesterday that the machine would able to resume operation on Monday.
In a tweet this evening the Embassy said “Today's test-run went well with expected results”
It added that clinical tests will resume from tomorrow on a gradual basis. The team had also examined the lab environment whole operation training for the local operators have been extended.
The Chinese Embassy also said that it appreciates the cooperation of the Ministry of Health as well as the local hospital.
