Nimal Siripala, Amaraweera to be removed from all positions of SLFP

The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to remove the SLFP parliamentarians who obtain ministry portfolios in the new government, from all positions of the party, SLFP Chairman Maithripala Sirisena said.

In a communiqué issued by the SLFP said that party's Central Committee had decided only to support constructive proposals of the government.

Accordingly, the SLFP MPs who obtain portfolios are in contrary to the party decision and would be removed from all positions from the party.

SLFPers Nimal Siripala De Silva and Mahinda Amaraweera had accepted ministry portfolios despite the party's decision. (Ajith Siriwardana)
