Navy seizes over 100kg of heroin and ICE

The Sri Lanka Navy seized more than 100 kilograms of heroin and crystal methamphetamine (ICE) during a special maritime operation off the island’s western coast early this morning.

Acting on intelligence reports, naval personnel intercepted a multi-day fishing trawler operating within Sri Lanka’s western maritime boundary. 

The vessel was taken into custody and escorted to the Dikowita Fisheries Harbour for further investigation.

A detailed search of the trawler revealed a concealed stash of narcotics, including over 100 kilograms of heroin and ICE, officials confirmed.
