Namal welcomes Central Bank’s move toward cryptocurrency recognition

Colombo, July 24 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa has expressed support for the Central Bank’s recent initiative to open dialogue on recognizing cryptocurrency as a legitimate transaction method.

In a message posted on X, Namal Rajapaksa pointed out the importance of Sri Lanka adopting bold measures to keep pace with global digital asset innovation. “As nations worldwide build frameworks for digital asset innovation, Sri Lanka must act boldly to stay competitive,” he said. 

Encouraging to see the Central Bank initiate dialogue on recognizing cryptocurrency as a legitimate transaction method.
