Namal thanks Nalinda for court reminder

Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser and MP Namal Rajapaksa said he was grateful to Minister Nalinda Jayatissa for reminding him of his upcoming court date and humorously requested that the minister remind him again before the hearing scheduled for next month.

Speaking on the matter, Rajapaksa said he had already written about the court case in his book and would remember that Minister Jayatissa had reminded him of the hearing.

“I have written about my court date in my book. I will remember that Hon. Minister Nalinda Jayatissa reminded me of the court date,” he said.

Rajapaksa added that the next court date falls on the 7th of next month and joked that another reminder from the minister would be helpful, given his busy schedule.

“I request him, the court date is on the 7th of next month. It would be good if he would remind me before that. These days I am asked to attend many meetings and so on, so if I forget, I will have a lot of work,” he said.

He further said he appreciated the minister’s reminder and extended an invitation to all 159 Members of Parliament to attend the court proceedings.

“I also invite him, and all 159 people, to come to court on that day and pay attention to the examination of evidence, rather than reading things here and there. Then they themselves can know how their police behaved,” Rajapaksa said.
