Mavai now asks for Army security to North

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Mavai Senathirajah had requested the government to provide military security to the Northern Province considering the prevailing situation in the country.  

He made this request during a May Day meeting organised by the ‎Illankai Tamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK) members in Palai, Kilinochchi.

“The Army and the police security should be beefed up to ensure the people’s safety,” he said.

However, earlier he had urged the government to withdraw the Army from the North. (Romesh Madushanka)
