Male, female MPs battle in Parliament

Colombo, Nov. 14 (Daily Mirror) - A male-female battle was witnessed in Parliament today with MP Sujeewa Senasinghe confronting female MPs Lakmali Hemachandra and Hiruni Wijesinghe over some remarks made on an earlier day. 

"MP Lakmali Hemachandra made a false accusation against me saying I have insulted MP Hiruni Wijesinghe. I never mentioned any name when I made my comment on an earlier date," the MP said. 

MP Wijesinghe said Senasinghe was clearly referring to her as he had pointed at her. 

"The MP clearly pointed at me and made the reference," she said. 

Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne said both MPs could raise privilege issues if they wished to do so.
