Landslide warnings issued for six districts

Colombo, May 22 (Daily Mirror) - The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued landslide early warnings for six districts following adverse weather conditions prevailing across the country.

The warnings will be in effect until 9.00 p.m. tommorow (23), the NBRO said.

Accordingly, a Level 2 warning has been issued for Seethawaka and Padukka in the Colombo District, Mirigama, Divulapitiya and Attanagalla in the Gampaha District, Agalawatta, Mathugama, Horana, Bulathsinhala, Ingiriya and Palindanuwara in the Kalutara District, Bulathkohupitiya, Yatiyanthota, Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella and Dehiowita in the Kegalle District, Ambagamuwa in the Nuwara Eliya District and Pelmadulla, Kiriella, Elapatha, Kalawana, Nivithigala, Ratnapura, Ayagama, Kuruwita and Eheliyagoda in the Ratnapura District.

Among these areas, Level 3 Red warnings have been issued for Deraniyagala, Ruwanwella and Dehiowita in the Kegalle District and Ratnapura, Ayagama, Kuruwita and Eheliyagoda in the Ratnapura District.
