Katina Perahera not allowed, 20 participants to Katina Chivara Pooja, noon alms, religious sermons

The Buddhist Affairs Department issued a circular today announcing that permission will not be granted to conduct the Katina Perahera due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, Department  Commissioner General Sunanda Kariyapperuma said.

He said the health guidelines on this were issued by the Health Services Director General.

Accordingly, a maximum of 20 devotees will be allowed during Katina Chivara Pooja, noon alms and religious sermons. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
