Kandy railway station under water

The Kandy railway station was flooded due to heavy rains.

An official from the Kandy railway station said heavy flow of rain water from the area where the Kandy hospital is situated, flooded the railway station.

As a result, the ticket counter, shunting area and drivers' rest rooms were under water.

He said if the continual heavy downpour hampers the signalling network, the trains may not be able to enter the station. (Chaturanga Samarawickrame)
