Joint Opposition protest begins from Maradana

The protest march organised by some political parties, trade unions and organisations commenced from the Elphinstone Theater in Maradana a short while ago.

Police said Maradana junction is blocked and advised motorists to use alternative routes.

Some notable figures that have already arrived are SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara, SJB members Hirunika Premachandra and Mujibur Rahman.
