Japanese firm gets contract

Cabinet, yesterday, decided to award the contract for the construction work of the third phase of the Colombo -- Kandy Expressway to a Japanese firm, it is learnt.

This covers the stretch from Potuhera to Galagedara. Its total cost is around Rs.150 billion. It will be constructed with Japanese financial assistance.

A Chinese company is working on the first phase of the project. (Kelum Bandara)
