Mar. 5 (Mirror Sports) — India beat England by seven runs in a high-scoring semi-final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, securing their place in the final after holding off a superb century from Jacob Bethell.

Riding on a powerful 89 from Sanju Samson, India posted a massive 253-7 at Wankhede Stadium. England responded strongly but fell short at 246-7 despite Bethell’s brilliant 105 from 48 balls.

England were in early trouble as Phil Salt, Harry Brook, and Jos Buttler departed quickly, leaving the score at 64-3.

Bethell revived the chase with aggressive hitting, striking seven sixes and eight fours while sharing key partnerships with Will Jacks (35) and Sam Curran (18). His run-out in the final over ended England’s hopes.

Earlier, Samson punished England after being dropped early, setting the platform for India’s big total. Ishan Kishan added 41 in a 97-run stand before late hitting from Shivam Dube (43), Hardik Pandya (27) and Tilak Varma (21) lifted India past 250.

India will meet the New Zealand national cricket team in Sunday’s final at Narendra Modi Stadium as they attempt to retain the T20 World Cup title.
