Colombo, May 28 (Daily Mirror) - D.V. Chanaka, a Parliamentarian of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), claimed that those who initially pledged to hold Provincial Council elections soon after coming to power are now absent from the election campaign.
Addressing the media, Chanaka said the people of the country could now see that decisions regarding the country were being made either by the Secretary of the “Pelawatte Party Office” or by Government Ministers.
He further alleged that the current government MPs were seeking to postpone the Provincial Council elections and charged that the government lacked the ability to conduct any type of election.
