Gotabaya files writ petition to prevent arrest over Easter Sunday probes

Colombo, June 16 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed a writ petition before the Court of Appeal seeking an order preventing the CID from arresting him in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks.

In his petition, the former President has cited Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, CID Director Shani Abeysekara, and several others as respondents.

The petition was filed through Attorney-at-Law Sanath Wijewardane.
