Fire breaks out at helmet factory in Homagama

Colombo, July 21 (Daily Mirror) - A fire broke out at a helmet manufacturing factory in the Katuwana Industrial Estate in Homagama this morning, the Homagama Headquarters Police said.

According to residents, thick black smoke from the blaze spread across the surrounding area, reducing visibility and causing concern among nearby communities.

Police said the fire was continuing to spread at the time of reporting.

The Kotte Municipal Council Fire Brigade has been called in to bring the fire under control. No casualties or the cause of the fire have been reported so far.
