Diciplinary investigations initiated against SDIG Nilantha Jayawardena: Minister

According to the order given by the Supreme Court in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks, a disciplinary investigation has been initiated  against Senior DIG in charge of Administration Nilantha Jayawardena, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles said.

He said at a media breifing that the Supreme Court will be informed about the investigations within 06 months.

The Supreme Court earlier ordered to take disciplinary action against the former head of the State Intelligence Service, Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena who was found accountable for failing to act on prior intelligence received on Easter Sunday attacks.

Earlier, police said the Supreme Court order was received by the police headquarters and it has also been forwarded to the police legal department.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
