Deputy Minister Ratna Gamage, SJB MP Wedaarachchi engage in showdown

Colombo, March 05 (Daily Mirror) - Deputy Minister Ratna Gamage and SJB MP Dilip Wedaarchchi engaged in a showdown during Parliament sessions today.

The heated argument broke out when the Deputy Minister revealed that MP Wedaarachchi received a sum of Rs. 42,000 and Rs. 52,000 as subsidies for his multi-day craft.

“You have got your subsidies and then utter lies in Parliament. This is, ugly," the Deputy Minister said.

“We have all documents to prove our point and don't you dare confront us," he added.

MP Wedaarachchi, who responded said he had received a subsidy only once.

"I was paid the subsidy only once. However, I am entitled to get the subsidy monthly. This is my point,“ he said.
