Curfew in NW Province continues: curfew in other parts lifted

The police curfew imposed island-wide was lifted this morning except for the North Western Province, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekera said.

The curfew imposed in Gampaha Police Division was lifted at 6 am this morning while the curfew imposed in other parts of the country was lifted at 4 am.

In addition to the police personnel, the spokesman said tri-forces personnel had also been deployed in the areas where tense situations took place to maintain law and order.

He said the police officers had been instructed to take strict action against lawbreakers.
