Covid-19: Second wave in Colombo exceed 19,000; only two police divisions remain isolated

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Colombo District from the second wave since October 4, 2020, exceeded 19,000 with 206 cases reported in Colombo alone  yesterday.
 
Accordingly, a total number of 19,196 cases have been reported in the Colombo District so far, while the COVID-19 cases in the second wave in the Gampaha too has reached 10,000 mark.
 
A total number of 521 cases were reported in the country yesterday and among them, 206 from Colombo, 97 from Gampaha, 81 from Kalutara and other 137 cases from other parts of the country.
 
Meanwhile, only two police divisions and seven Grama Niladhari Divisions in the Colombo District remain isolated as of today.
 
Grandpass and Dematagoda Police areas, Ferguson Road South, Nafeer Watta, Galagedara East, Dematagoda, Veluwana Road, Upper St. Andrews Road and Lower St. Andrews roads in Colombo are still under isolation.
 
In addition, Kaththankudy Police area and 47 other GN Divisions in other parts of the country have been brought under isolation.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
