Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith leaves for Rome

Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) - 

Archbishop of Colombo, Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, departed from the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today for Italy to attend the funeral of the late Pope Francis in Rome, the Airport Officer in Charge confirmed.

He is also expected to participate in the election of the new Pope, which is scheduled to be held thereafter.

Cardinal Ranjith is scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways flight EY-393 at 9:30 AM on April 23, before continuing on to Rome, Italy on a connecting flight.
