CID arrests man for sharing threatening post on FB over Independence Day Celebrations

A 40-year-old man who shared a post on FB which is likely to pose threat to the 75th Independence Day Celebrations, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Police said the suspect, a resident of Maharagama, was arrested by the Cyber Crimes Division of the CID.

It was reported that the suspect had shared a post on Facebook threatening those who would be scheduled to attend the 75th Independence Day Celebrations.

He would be produced before the Nugegoda Gangodawila Magistrate Court, police said. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
