Feb.24, Colombo (Mirror Sports) - Captain Harry Brook smashed a sensational maiden T20I century to steer the England cricket team into the T20 World Cup semi-finals with a thrilling two-wicket win over the Pakistan national cricket team in Pallekele.

Promoted to number three after an early wicket, Brook produced a captain’s knock under pressure, hammering exactly 100 off just 50 balls, including 10 fours and four sixes, in a tense chase of 165.

England stumbled to 58-4, with Jos Buttler and others falling cheaply, but Brook held firm, shifting gears brilliantly as wickets tumbled around him.

He was bowled by Shaheen Afridi a ball after reaching his landmark, but with only 10 needed from three overs, Jofra Archer finished the job with five balls to spare.

England became the first team to book a semi-final spot, while Pakistan must now beat Sri Lanka and rely on other results to stay alive.
