Body of missing Peradeniya undergrad found in Mahaweli River

The body of the fourth year Arts faculty student at the Peradeniya university, who had gone missing since the September 16, was found in the Mahaweli River in Gatambe area, police said.

Earlier, the Peradeniya Police have initiated investigation into a complaint over the disappearance of the student.

Police said the 24-year-old student, a resident of Yakkala has been missing since a few days ago.

A letter suspected to have been written by the missing undergraduate was also found in the boarding room where he was staying. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
