Ban on social media lifted

The temporary ban on social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber, YouTube and Instagram has been lifted, Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) said.

The government banned social media platforms to stop the spread of rumours following violence erupted in several areas in the country.
