Automated system to block mobile phones without TRC approval

Colombo, January 29 (Daily Mirror) - The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) said it will introduce new software to detect and prevent the use of mobile phones that do not have TRC approval.

The Commission also requests the public not to purchase any mobile phones without approval from the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission in the future.

Director General of the Commission Bandula Herath said the TRC will implement a new automated system soon to prevent the use of such unapproved phones.
