The All Share Price Index gained 75.9 points to close at 6,992.7 points (+1.1%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also gained 32.7points to close at 7,314.7 points (+0.4%).
 

 The total turnover was LKR4,474.7 mn (USD40,338.9 k) vs.12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,446.9mn (USD21,647.3 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 172,255 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 80,160 k.
 

Top traded counters were

Laugfs Gas (Voting) LKR705.9 mn (USD6,361.7 k,+14.7%)
Citrus Leisure LKR366.4 mn (USD3,302.1 k,+5.6%),
Ceylon Grain Elevators LKR323.1 mn (USD2,911.9 k,+11.0%),
Laugfs Gas (Non-Voting) LKR234.2 mn (USD2,110.7 k,+9.8%)

Market continued to ascend on energetic ways whilst generating healthy turnover levels. Laugfs Gas(Voting and Non-voting) continued to attract institutional and retail interest despite a 10% price band imposed to Laugfs Gas (Non Voting).  Further counter contributed for circa 21% of day’s turnover. Citrus Leisure saw near 4.2 mn shares changing hands during the day where the counter witnessed mixed interest. High-Net worth investors and institutions were active on Ceylon Grain Elevators whilst institutional play was evident in heavy weight John Keells Holdings during the day.
 

Net outflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR205.3 mn (USD1,850.2 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR382.3 mn (USD3,445.4 k).

 

Market capitalization is at LKR2,330.9 bn. YTD market performance is up 5.4%.
