As the hot weather gradually relinquishes its hold, residents across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western Provinces are urged to brace for heavy showers above 75 mm during next 36 hours, according to the bulletin issued at 4.00 pm yesterday.

In addition to these areas, intermittent showers or thundershowers are predicted for Eastern and Uva Provinces, as well as the Hambantota District.

Meanwhile, residents in North-central and Northern Provinces should anticipate several spells of showers throughout the day.

Across the rest of the island, scattered showers or thundershowers are anticipated during the afternoon or night, indicating a widespread weather pattern impacting various regions.

Furthermore, misty conditions are expected to prevail in certain areas during the morning hours.

As such, residents in Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva Provinces, as well as Galle and Matara Districts, are advised to exercise caution while commuting and engaging in outdoor activities due to reduced visibility caused by
misty weather.
